Name: Jenesis Excryl
Pronunciation: Jeh-neh-sis Ex-crill
D.O.B.: July 22, 1986
Age: Twenty-one
Alias: Miss. Ex
Nationality: Korean-American
Hair Color: Dark brown
Eye Color: Hazel
Height: 5'6 1/2
Weight: 112 lbs.
Appearance:
Having long dark brown, straight hair, it's usually let down. She brushes her hair daily to give it that smooth, silky effect, and gives off a sweet pea scent. Her eyes are round and almond shaped, holding a a mixed emotion of hope and loss. She is at an average height of 5'6 1/2, and is a bit underweight due to eating disorders she's had in the past, yet is slowly recovering and re-gaining her weight.
Clothing:
Jenesis is one who usually wears all black - no, she isn't gothic, but black just happens to be her favorite shade. She wears a black, zip-up sleeveless vest with a white or gray sleeveless shirt underneath. On her lower half, she wears black shorts that come short right above her knees in the summer, and in the winter, she wears long black sweats that are slightly baggy around the legs. Her pants hold some sort of cape on the back where a black cloth falls down freely behind her, and she wears black sneakers that are incredibly light so she could move quickly. Around her left upper arm is a thick red ribbon tied tightly so it wouldn't fall loose or break, and black leather gloves occupy her hands for a reason.
Alice:
Pain Infliction: Jenesis has the power to make people feel physical pain by simply touching them with her hands or aiming her palm in a certain direction. The only pain they will feel is the body part she touched or pointed at - so if it was the wrist, the person would feel pain only on their wrist. Her Alice is like an invisible force that happens in a blink of an eye. At first, her Alice only tenses up the persons muscle, cramping them, but as time lapses on, slowly, the hume will begin to feel more and more pain. Jenesis, however, does not have the power to make it go away, though she was given a type of lotion that eases it.
Personality:
Patient and organized are two words that best fit this teacher. While growing up, her parents have tested Jenesis in several different ways to test her patience - it was like an unspoken game between her and her two guardians, and naturally, she began to adapt to the situation where she can go for days, if not weeks of being patient with one subject. Organization is another big thing for Jenesis, who likes to keep things neat and tidy so she knows where everything is. Books would be in alphabetical order from the authors last name, paperwork would be neatly stacked in a single pile, pens would be separated by color, and so on. She isn't exactly a neat freak - she can be laid back and completely lazy enough not to clean up after herself or others, but it's a responsibility she took when she first decided she wanted to teach the "gifted".
When it comes to socializing with students, she is pretty much straight forward and blunt. The class of students she'll be teaching should already know the rules of responsibility and respect, and they should know not to mess in her class. She doesn't give out homework, simply because she was always one to hate homework when she was younger, but she will not hesitate to give a hand out if someone went out of line. She is not a hard teacher unless the students make it hard.
To her fellow staff, she'd seem like a laid back person, calm, relaxing. She'd be involved in discussions and such, but she wouldn't speak much unless needed. Being more of a listener than a speaker, she'd give the occasional nod to signal that she understands what is going on and why.
Background:
Being raised in Korea, her mother taught her strict rules about respecting her elders. Being half Caucasian, she was constantly looked down upon the other Koreans, which made it very hard for her to respect her peers. They all shut her out of her childhood life - she was different from them, and that enough was a good enough reason to cast her out. If they didn't respect her, why should she respect them? Ever since she was young, she was out casted, which is why she was signed up for a martial arts defense class at such a young age - the reason why she has a specialty in hand to hand combat. She was picked on, bullied upon as a young girl, and as she grew older, she learned not to care what others thought of her. She respected those who respected her, and those who didn't, she just ignored.
At the age of eleven is when Jenesis began to realize she had some sort of "special power". At that age, she didn't even know what an Alice was. It was late afternoon after school on a Friday, and Jenesis was walking home until she saw a boy picking on another girl her age. Infuriated - because that's what she went through once - she went up and grabbed the boys arm to pull him back, and pulled him away from the girl. Moments later, he yelled at Jenesis, asking what she did to his arm because it was cramping up, and soon, he began to cry, whining about how much it hurt, and ran home. Later that night, police came knocking on her door, and figured Jenesis couldn't do anything to cause any internal damage, though her parents thought otherwise.
Both her parents were not Alice users, but her grandparents were. Her dad's father had an Alice where he can make the blood stop flowing in the veins in a particular area so it would clog, and her mom's mother had an Alice where she can cause internal excessive bleeding. It was only natural that Jenesis got something that had to do with internal damage as well. Being explained all this from two loving parents, it was easy to take in, and easily, Jenesis learned how to control her Alice without much practice. However, word got out, and many children began crying about Jenesis touching them on the arm. It was all fake, of course - this was just another way to make Jenesis break down, but it didn't work, because after the first time it happened, she began wearing gloves. Not only for her own protection, but for her parents, who were getting many negative comments and insults from other peers and neighbors.
So they moved.
And she didn't fit in.
Being a teenager, you could say she was a "late bloomer". Flat chested, short for age, glasses, braces - to tell the truth, you could say she was a total geek. She was in Orchestra, playing the violin, first chair, which she was proud of. You could say she's being slightly stereotypical right now, but she guessed that most, if not all, Korean parents had put their child through any type of string instrument lessons. In this case, for Jenesis, it was the piano and the violin. She was musically gifted, having long slender, skinny fingers for the piano, yet firm and gentle at the same time for the violin. A late bloomer, but had many talents.
She came from a mediocre family - not filthy rich, but not very poor either, though their condo in Korea made it seem as if they were rich. Her mother always had a sense of style, so everything matched in one room. Except for Jenesis' own room - it was hectic. She was scolded constantly from her mother to clean her room, but so to say, she was just too lazy. If it was one thing she did not have, it was a sense of fashion. Everything in her room clashed, from her bed sheets to her walls, nothing went well together. And of course, Jenesis not caring what color was what, as long as it wasn't too bright, she didn't really seem to notice.
In the summer of her Sophomore year, she began to "bloom" into a beautiful young adult. She was far more mature than the average fifteen year old, and you could say she looked flawless. People who haven't noticed her before began to speak to her, but of course, Jenesis took no notice. Not liking the attention she was receiving, she began cross dressing like a guy - wearing cargo pants that were baggy around the legs, a hooded sweatshirt and a beanie always on her head, even though hats were not allowed on school grounds for protection purposes.
Being far more intelligent then usual, Jenesis excelled and skipped her Junior year and onto her Senior, and by then she already had college credits. She heard about this 'Alice Academy' and that was her goal - to teach there, to help other students sharpen their skill in magic and what not.
She got her first boyfriend in the middle of summer between Sophomore and Senior year - since she skipped her Junior. They met at the public library, and they clicked. She was working part time at the library, putting away stacks of books back onto the shelves, and he volunteered to help. Sadly, that summer was also the summer where her mother passed away from four gunshot wounds to the stomach from a neighbor who disliked Jenesis, and not too soon after, her father who had a heart failure. The money had been passed down to Jenesis, where she put it all away in her own bank account. She didn't have to use that money for college because of a scholarship she received - yes, she was quite smart.
Jenesis was devastated - she lost two loving parents, her mother, whom she saw die in front of her, and her father, whom she held hands with until he passed away. Living in an orphanage until she was able to go off to college, she made no friends during that time. She was distant, anti-social, and kept to herself, giving off a mysterious aura.
Still with her boyfriend until her third year of college, Jenesis remained by his side, that is, until he died. Being in a car with a drunk driver, they got into an accident where his car fell off the tollway and into the water. Running into the hospital room where he was still alive, she held his hand, tears flowing out of her face - he was obviously dying. The five years Jenesis spent with him - who's name was Reita - went to waste. Over and over he apologized for getting into the car with the drunk driver, and over and over he said that he loved her. That day was the first and last time he ever spoke those three words to her. Finally, the next morning, he passed away.
She lost three loved ones in her live. One of which she didn't understand why. But, being mature about it, she decided to let go and move on, which was easier said then done. She focused on her studies, busying herself with a lot of things to do to keep her mind off of them, majoring in English literature and journalism in college, and after four years of constant studying, she made her way to Alice Academy where she would pursue her future career.
