It's one of these evenings that she could think about anything peacefully. This was Freedom Space, after all. Indeed, after the first effervescence of this place and her meeting, she had been contented to use Freedom Space to indulge in the atmosphere of peace. The particular lieu was filled with an invisible haze of air and saw some other familiar sundry spectacles -- nothing changed at all. She just realized right now that she had foresworn most of her old habits -- such as crying. In half-closed lids, she sat down on the bench and recalled all about Ryuu and Jason.
Where, precisely, was the change? It was hard to say. The long, thin figure was nerveless in its poses; the slender pale hand that had a characteristic vigor, lying listlessly open on the bench, no longer looked capable of a tense, muscular grasp of life; the slightly -- not elongated oval of the face, with its complexion and hair like the Americans, was scarcely more hollowed than before, but it had lost that expression of expectation, which is one of the distinctive marks of youth in the face. This evening didn't bore her unutterably. She stared on the ground meditatively. It was a coincidence that she really wanted to see one of her friends aside from Jason and Ryuu.
Maybe her wish will be guided straight as an arrow and will come true.

Through a man's point of view (such as he), the endless green fields of the freedom space were beautiful, almost wondrous in its simplicity. The skies were a peaceful and calm light blue, and the clouds were nice and puffy, as it should be. The grass, as eradicated earlier, was a vibrant green, and he could feel the cool afternoon breeze blow sweetly on his flawless face. He gave off a soft sigh as a particular issue of wind blew through his crimson locks, and he stood for a while, lost in stupor, somewhere in the middle of the peaceful land.
All around him students and teachers alike carried on with their businesses- either to meet a friend or to take a break, it was never in his care anyway. What mattered to him, in this vast silence yet bustling serenity, was to find a place to sit comfortably on.
The trees, though as much as he didn't want to admit to, were out of the question. His white pressed-up buttoned shirt could not be afforded to be dirtied, and his ebony slacks that hugged his long legs cannot risk to be placed upon the slightly humid grass. His usually gloved hands at the side, he made his way across the fields and ended up where countless of benches- both empty and taken- stood in his wake.
A familiar figure, slender and blond-haired, sat in one of the seats. He had seen her quite often, actually- and it was no surprise that they should meet, perhaps, once again. Although he had no plans, and he'd rather be somewhere else than being with the troubled teen (or so he thought, for as her looks conveyed), he approached the said girl and bowed in respect, as is his nature.
"May I take a seat, fair Luna?" he asked her, careful not to let a hint of sarcasm slip up.

Observing the colorful flowers that were consent with one another, she pondered if she'll ever be happy forever. Next, she watched the lethargic package of leaves, whose rough edges presented that they had been hurriedly cut from a binding. The trees were insistently narrated by the mutinous wind -- it all seems so beautiful. Her face wasn't that despondent anymore; her facial features seems to be radiated with more color and life already. Though, her unexpurgated personality still doesn't have its own levity, she is still quite serious.
'May I take a seat, fair Luna?'
That voice. It's from Drake. She nearly released an exasperated sigh. Not that she doesn't like him because he is an egotist. Well, he's not one. It's just that she has nothing to say, but just to let him sit with her. After his bow, she merely nodded and skipped a sufficient space for him to sit down. Alright, perhaps, she will just start a conversation here. She doesn't even have the Alice to introspect a person to know his or her feelings. She just wanted to know what Drake is currently feeling. Talking isn't an infinite importance here -- perhaps, but somehow, she needs to talk to fill the night.
"So, how are you?"

Her reply, rather than any captivating sentence or at least a short, insignificant word, was a brief nodding of the head. She had moved to the side to provide him enough space to sit on- though he was actually thin, thin enough to squeeze into what the space had earlier provided him. Yet it would be a discomfort, and he thankfully took his place beside his companion.
She looked a lot better than when they had last meet. Perhaps the wounds had closed already, and obviously he had missed out on all of the past events in her life (not as if he had any significant role in them). He wasn't really curious; he was merely concerned. And, for goodness sake, it had nothing to do with heartstrings or whatever loathsome crap romantic people would have put it in. He tilted his head to the side, letting his auburn hair flow rather heavily down the side of his face, only half-registering the question she had given which obviously a vain attempt to start a conversation.
Might as well help her out, he thinks quietly, turning his attention to her and the present situation he was in, letting out a small charming smile.
"Very well, actually. Things have started to look up for me." He replied casually, keeping his gaze direct at her eyes, since it was only polite to look at his companion when speaking. He wondered idly if he should let the whole dormitory thing slip up- his left arm moved backward to hide the bandages loosely wrapped upon the intended wound beneath his long sleeve at that- but he decided to keep it down. Anybody's knowledge of it wouldn't help alleviate his boredom (and perhaps, depression) anyway.
"I believe thou arth feeling better?" he added in, not really indicating any healed wound from a past event, but just one way to ask how a person's welfare is. Or rather, the only way he could think of at that moment.
He honestly wanted to hit himself on the head now, and he showed his discomfort concretely on his once-serene expression, his eyebrows closing in together making small folds of skin between them. He had always been branded as 'smooth'- he could usually talk to anybody composedly, not letting emotions get the better of him. And he was especially good with females. So was his cover slipping up now? He bent his head and immediately his hands shot up to massage his temples. Perhaps the lack of sleep. Maybe.

'Very well, actually. Things have started to look up for me.'
With a small smile -- the type wherein the teeth won't expose; she nodded slightly. Well, she doesn't feel so hopeless anymore. At first, she didn't believe that the courage of life is a magnificent mixture of triumph and tragedy. And that it is the basis of all morality. But now, she believes in it. From now on, she does what she must, in spite of personal consequences, in spite of obstacles and dangers and pressures.
'I believe thou arth feeling better?'
"Yes, everything is going well."
She told him, resuming in outliving her small smile -- and gazed at him. There was only a short respite of the stare. A brief time in gazing at people's faces is what she frequently do -- at times, with intense emotion as well. Alright, not really currently intense somehow. She is already free from the sufferings she had been through. From what she heard, we are always ripe and ready to be taken.
Maybe we sometimes suffer over little things as well.

"Yes, everything is going well."
She had replied with certainty and sincerity, her smile resembling that someone who had been relieved of something woeful of a burden. It made him forget his recent problems (depression, boredom, lack of self-esteem and whatnot), and he lowered his hands to his lap and eased stressed lines that were probably etching his face. What delighted him even further was the fact that she wasn't hiding her eyes anymore- so often did other women do- and returned his polite staring. He wasn't really good with reading emotions in people's eyes, but he could tell that she, indeed, was alright.
"I am glad to hear that." he said quietly, breaking eye contact and dragged his seemingly stubborn gaze across the fields and stared at numerous trees that was in his line of sight. At least there was someone in the world that he knew was happy. Or rather, contented. As much as he hated to admit, he wasn't in tiptop shape right now- and so good was his concealment of such emotions that nobody really realized how...desperately depressed he is. The boredom (should he really call it that way? It was something else, he knew) that now haunted him now and then was getting to the point of being unbearable, sometimes causing him to actually hurt himself.
The idea caused his wound to sting again. A reminder.
"So I trust thou aren't having doubts upon entering this place?" He asked quite suddenly. The words were already out by the time he realized what he had said, so there wasn't time to take it back.

'I am glad to hear that.'
As those words gushed forth, they annihilated through her ears. Hearing this, actually, she exaggeratedly felt that she had an incision somewhere in her. His random statement were all above her disturbing thoughts in her head. Was he honest? She doubted him a little. Not about the statement now, but the tone of his voice. He sounds kinda sad like her back when they met each other in the Auditorium. Perhaps, the essentials he desired were not on his grasp yet. Or maybe he just have problems and disputed to himself on how to solve them.
'So I trust thou aren't having doubts upon entering this place?'
"No, I predetermined to go here."
She said and she, herself, doesn't know. Guessing his current feeling was just a waste of time. Her thoughts dismembered from her abruptly as she gazed at the moonlight. Well, as most people are feeling, she was also bored. But she couldn't have Drake as a scapegoat -- for it wasn't his fault. She should have deified him at least a little for being the first person to talk with her for this evening. According to her, he is also nice, good to accompany and communicate with. For the lack of better terms to describe Drake, that's all she could exalt silently about him.
She decided to counterattack his question.
"Well, what about you?"

"No, I predetermined to go here."
She was probably thinking of the Freedom space, and not the school. For that, he was glad. The question was highly unlikely, something he never really meant to say, so it didn't matter if she got his point or not. Perhaps it was better for her not to know about what he really intended to say.
"Well, what about you?"
He had no idea what to say to that. After all, her understanding of his thrown question was not what he had in mind. Nevertheless, he had to reply.
"As Shido would have so rightly say, I was bored. I wanted to."
He was bored alright. And he needed to find a way to keep him from the said emotion- it could lead to his death.
"Do thou think I'm foolish?" he asked suddenly, frowning. "I certainly think I am."

'As Shido would have so rightly say, I was bored. I wanted to.'
Now that it was answered, she will just leave the question to its own devices. The wind that lambasted amok at their faces, only attempted to minuscule little by little now until it didn't make a single bustle of activity. The blush that still painted the Freedom Space's horizon was somewhat misleading -- for one who had been locked up in some cavern for a few months, anyway.
'Do thou think I'm foolish? I certainly think I am.'
"No."
She answered at the abrupt, bridging question that seems to send two potent blade in her ears. She hadn't known him for so many days, so she couldn't really tell if he was. But back at the days when she was with him, he wasn't really foolish or acting like one thus far. But if he is thinking that he is really one, it's his opinion. She doesn't want to decontaminate that opinion in her thoughts with that much filth.
No, she thinks he isn't one, really.

"No."
It was a sudden, well-placed reply, and he titled his head in a way that said, "Yeah, say that to my face."
Not as if he wanted to say those words.
"I'm sorry, but apparently thou have no idea to what I have done in the last few days. If thou did, then certainly thou would have agreed to my opinion." He gave out a hollow, mirthless laugh.
He wasn't lying. In fact, if the student council gave out an award for the most retarded and cynical man, perhaps he would have won first, second, and third place. No competition. It was probably in his genes to act so dementedly, becoming suicidal just for the sake of relieving his boredom- such bull. He prayed that some holy fanatic would strike him down that moment.
Which reminded him. He turned his gaze towards the blazing sun, frowning, wondering if ever should he let lose the question plaguing his mind. Perhaps he should- just to get the conversation going.
"May I ask...do thou believe...in God? That Divine being who's supposed to be watching over us right now, in the heavens?" it felt odd to say it out loud. Thinking of it was one thing, but voicing it out was another. "I certainly do not." He snorted after.

'Yeah, say that to my face.'
Not gazing at him, she slightly frowned.
'I'm sorry, but apparently thou have no idea to what I have done in the last few days. If thou did, then certainly thou would have agreed to my opinion.'
"..."
Alright, she had nothing to say there -- but if there is -- what will she say? She blinked without guile. She could almost hear the gears clicking and snapping in the convolutions of her own mind. But she tried to remain silent and unperturbed by his statements there -- because even saying some senseless words that pops out of her mouth will only amount to nothing for sure.
'May I ask...do thou believe...in God? That Divine being who's supposed to be watching over us right now, in the heavens?'
... Want the truth?
"No..."
She whispered the answer as she raised an eyebrow dubiously after hearing him saying "no" in a way about the current topic. There was nothing wrong in expressing an opinion, really -- but hearing him say the words that evasively pried in the fresh air now -- was rather a little shameless to her. Afterwards, her eyes were getting hard as corundums. Anyway, she doesn't believe in God either.
If someone said that He protects people from danger, then why the people that are important to her had been taken away now?

There was something showing in her face, and he grinned- somewhat maliciously- to know that his question had stirred doubt in her. Such a devil was he, taking away one worshipper of the Holy being- but then again, perhaps she did not need conviction. She probably didn't believe in Him either.
"No..."
That surely confirmed his thoughts, and quickly he erased the smile that was showing on his face.
"And I trust thou know of thy own reason?" he shook his head. "Bull, really. Complete bull. If there did exist such, perhaps my mother would have recovered, especially after those prayers sent by those holy neighbors."
Odd. He lost control there. But it wasn't like him to fuss over a little detail, and it wasn't as if he'd burn right down to hell before her. A little reunion between father and son, he thinks, snickering silently with his eyes closed and his head shaking to the sides.
But then...if He did exist, so did heaven. And most assuredly his uncle would be there. And the blood he had on his shirt would be gone.
He gave out a sigh, leaning heavily on his knees.
"Hell exists, though." He whispered quietly, enough for his companion to hear. "It really does."

"My urgent prayers weren't answered... either."
Seems related to her best friend that doesn't have an asylum from death. No offense, but even the Holy Spirit doesn't seem therapeutic enough to her either. So glibly and yet, He doesn't answer some alarming prayers? There was a ravaging wind going on while thinking about her doubts.
She can even reassert her concentric doubts about the heavens. It seems that she frequently has a crushed, undulated hope. She wholly agrees Drake. Perhaps, the heavens are awfully offended now. Maybe they will set upon a bad karma.
'Hell exists, though. It really does.'
"I agree. I consistently... have bad... karma."

"I agree. I consistently... have bad... karma."
He laughed at that, feeling a bit enlightened- after all, this whole conversation was deeply amusing him, and he did not give a damn about fanatical zealots raining down upon him with frenzied chants and blessed water. There was nothing really wrong about getting a bit wet or hearing countless of words that probably meant gibberish to him.
"Karma doesn't have anything to do with hell, Luna. Karma is a wheel. It's something like, 'get-what-thou-deserve' thing. Do bad, rain descends upon you; do a good deed, and sometime later thou is bathed in the solace of compliments. It's how the world runs. Hell, however, is worse than simple dreaded karma- it is the dead end for all those who had lived in the dark side." Star wars? Where did that came from? Somehow he felt like some sithlord or something jeering at a wounded little Obi-Wan. "Surely it exists, no? Look around thee; this is hell on earth. Pain, suffering, discontentment, savagery. Heaven is a myth, a mere illusion that is always promised to those fools running around to serve some nameless, invisible God."
He found himself shaking his head, fists clenched on his lap. He was taking this personally now. But he did not want to stop. Let rain fall, come hell or high water, he wasn't going to clam up. Not anymore. Accursed idiots, bustling around with bibles and rattling rosaries- their endless prayer would not help anyone; they did not help anybody at all. Just a fake reassurance, they are.
"Sorry about that, Luna. But it's true. If thou find me blasphemous, go ahead and walk away. I'm not done with this whole religion stuff just yet."
[ooc: the exact thoughts I had during my religion classes. Dx]
