(Due to some...things, this bio is being changed. The alice and the history will be changed. I AM DOING THIS WITH PERMISSION. Thank you.)
Name: River Silvano
Nationality: American
Religious Affiliation: Agnostic
Age: 27
Gender: Female
Date Of Birth: April 7, 1979
Hair Colour: Ash blonde
Eye Colour: Light blue, though sometimes the light can make them look grey.
Height: 5'5"
Weight: 135 lbs.
Occupation: Temporary Substitute for Psychics.
Alice: Mind control.
River has the ability to get into the minds of others and control their thoughts. She is nowhere near as weak as a student in her power, and even the most strong willed person can succumb to her alice. The closer she gets to looking a person in the eye when she starts to control him or her, the better her control works.
Her version of mind control does not make a person act any differently than they would, unless she absolutely wants the pesron to. Instead, he or she acts completely normal but begins to feel the urge to do whatever it is River is wanting the person to do. It starts as just something small, and then steadily grows until it is unstoppable. The person cannot resist temptation, and proceeds to do what it is she desires. However, during this time the person seems completely and totally normal. She could make them act straight out different, but she rarely likes to do that. It often leads to something of a disaster if things occur in that way.
Appearance: River Silvano has ash blonde hair that is generally tied back in a pony tail or a french braid. A few bangs fall in front of her light blue eyes, but she tends to push them to the side. If her hair is down, then it reaches to about her shoulder length, but rarely does she do that. She is often irritated by the hair that gets in her face while she works, and would rather not deal with it.
River has a slight build, though she isn't too short. She's got a long and lean look to her, but it is quite unclear if she does anything to work on her body or if its just a natural gift that will one day wear away and leave her cursed with large amounts of fat to deal with. It doesn't seem to matter to her at all though, and so she lives with the body many woman would die for as though it were just another simple matter.
The look in Ms. Silvano's eyes is generally one of boredom. She doesn't like doing tedious work, and so usually sits over slouched if she is bothered with anything silly. However, if she is actually interested in what she does, then she will sit up and look attentively at her audience, or whoever is speaking to her. However, that same general stare still sits on her face. It is unclear, from the look in her eyes whether or not she is actually truly interested in a topic or pretending.
Clothing: River doesn't like to dress too formally, though if she is teaching a class she will put on a nice blouse and either dress pants or a skirt. However, when not on duty she's just like any other normal person. She'll sit back and wear a pair of jeans with a t-shirt and call it a day. It doesn't matter to her whether she looks professional for anyone when she's not at work, and in her mind nobody else should care either. During the summer, she likes to wear shorts and tanktops, both modest and immodest. However, during the winter she bundles up in large jackets and sweaters, though mostly turtlenecks.
Personality: It's hard to get to the core of River Silvano's personality. She generally has a hard time connecting with people, and never really says why. She's all-around bored and hard to talk to, but when she does talk she winds up being surprisingly sensitive. Strangely enough, she does seem to be incredibly good with kids, and rather sweet and sensitive too.
At work, River can be described as one of the really nice teachers that students love. She's caring and is always there to listen to their problems, even if she is slightly intimidating sometimes. The wall of boerdom always comes down when she's around children, for whatever reason. She listens to the teenagers with their love problems, or the pre-teens who are just trying to figure out what they're even doing in a school. She likes working with them, especially one-on-one sessions where she can really help them academically.
With many adults, River can be described as stand-offish. She keeps to herself most of the time, and whenever she is bothered with something she's working on, she looks at the one interrupting with a bored, dull look. She seems to tolerate adults most of the time, but never really has a liking for them. It surely couldn't be that adults are awfully stuffy, since River herself can be uptight and stuffy about her work and getting lesson plans made out and ready to go. So River just goes on her way, strangely stand-offish without a real reason as to why. It suits her just fine, but its generally a turn-off toward other people
Family History:
Matthew Silvano (Father): Flight Alice
Lydia Silvano (Mother): Shield Alice
Darren Silvano (Brother): Wing Creation Alice
Jennifer Silvano (Sister): Death Alice
Background: River comes from a family full of alice weilders. Everybody in her immediate family can manipulate their alice to near perfection. Her father and mother, from early ages, were forced to master their alices without ever really thinking about what they could do. So, of course, when they met one another it was a perfect match. The Silvano family immediately decided that Lydia Tibrank was the perfect bride for Matthew Silvano, their prized son with the ability to fly. Lydia's alice wasn't all that special, but she did know how to control it perfectly, and so they knew their offspring would as well.
Darren and Jennifer, the two oldest children, were put to work immediately when their alices were discovered. Matthew and Lydia refused to put their children into schools to learn their alices when the two of them knew perfectly well how to control what they had. They figured that discipline and hard work were the keys to success with alices, and so they tried their best to instill that in their children. Day after day, month after month the elder siblings worked until they could at least conciously control their alices, but not without a price. The two older children became drones just like their parents, without any real say in anything they did. That was just what the Silvano and Tibrank families wanted.
When River was born, she too was taken into the instruction of her parents. However, she never saw her brother or sister much, and when she did they were always with the rest of her family. They were usually performing some kind of maneuver with their alices, and the family would ooh and ah and give praise. It seemed like her siblings were just a coulpe of trained circus animals, and she feared that she too would become like them. Still, what else was she to do? River had no control over her own alice, and without her parents and family she would have no place to go, and would perhaps die.
So childhood was hard for the youngest Silvano. Her alice didn't seem like it would be all that hard to control, but she was often told to attempt to control very strong-willed people. Sometimes it would be her own parents, which she could never accomplish. Instead, she liked to practice on weaker things such as animals. They were so easy to manipulate, their minds were so incredibly weak. Though her parents scorned her for it, she knew it was the only way she was going to learn as quickly as they wanted to. So, by this method, she began to progress in her control.
At the age of fifteen, River found she was beginning to have some sort of control in her life. Seeing this, her parents allowed her to go to a public school after fifteen years of home schooling. She would sometimes use mind control to get back at people who would make fun of her at her first public school, but she would soon pay the price for doing so when her parents began to realize what she was doing. Though they were proud of her abilities, they refused to let her be exposed in such a foolish way. They refused to trust her when she promised not to do it again, and locked her up inside of her room once more.
At the age of eighteen, River left her family for a college she had applied to months before. Her parents hadn't known she intended to leave, and when she did they merely gawked in amazement at the fact that she really intended to do such a thing. They didn't know where she went, though, and so they could do absolutely nothing about it. That fact amazed the young woman, and so she began to run completely wild with her life. In fact, for a while, she forgot all about her alice and hardly used it at all. It had caused her so much trouble in her life that she didn't even want to think about it anymore. She figured she could live just fine without it.
However, in her twentieth year, a strange man approached River with a proposition. She was on her way to getting some semblance of a teaching degree, and so he insisted that she finish it. When she recieved her credentials, she was to go see him and then they would discuss her future. Slightly hesitant at taking some unknown man's advice, River decided she would go through with her teaching degree to see what she could get out of the man.
Around the age of twenty-five, River had her own apartment, and exactly what the man had asked of her. She was lost and confused, and still hesitant to touch her alice. Then, one day, the man appeared at her doorstep and began to instruct her of things she had not thought of before. Training her alice, gaining complete control so she could go teach in a place called Alice Academy. She didn't quite understand why she should do that, but the man did insist, and his persuasion finally got to her. She caved, and eventually decided to go along with it.
For nearly two years, River worked as hard as she could on her alice manipulation. She had odd jobs, sometimes teaching and sometimes working at McDonald's, but always working on the alice that would bring her to the academy. She worked and worked, often coming close to exposure, but she was also beginning to learn more subtle ways of controlling those around her. She was getting stronger, gaining more control than she had even as a teenager with her parents. She was learning, she really was.
Then one day, she found herself at the gates of Alice Academy. For a moment, River didn't quite understand what she was doing there, and could barely remember the man's words to her. However, one thought stuck out in her mind. She belonged there, she would have people that weren't going to completely attack her for being what she was, or try to use her like some circus freak. She would be a teacher, and show her students how to use their gifts for themselves, not just so someone else could stare at them or use them. She found her place...she knew this had to be it.
If not here, then where else could she go?
