Corporeal Information
Sandy-brown hair//Amber-gold eyes//5'7"//110 lbs.
At first glance, the Ellmelech boy had almost nothing to offer; the almost too-common brown hair, a male build, and, constantly, a hooded jacket uncaringly draped over his shoulders. Although, once the gaze meets his eyes, the mesmerizing stare it held, this half-British young male might attract attention.
His eyes were a great asset to his features, and he knew it. He continuously proves the saying ‘the eyes are the windows to the soul’, able to put as much feeling to his gaze as he could do with jerky, panicking movements.
He could easily signal someone to stop with a single glare, fury and rage emanating from his hues, or perhaps a sad emotion flowing through his pressuring watch. His nose-bridge is straight, thought not much so. His lips are pale and thin, hiding rows of pearly white teeth on the inside of his mouth.
His hair is long for a male, long enough to be pulled in a braid, edges sharp and uneven. He keeps his mane in a ponytail that hangs to the side of his head, showing on his shoulder or resting on it entirely. His bangs are sharp and divide at the left portion of his forehead, long enough to cover his eyes. The hair on his head rises to the air in a spiked fashion, seemingly held up with gel yet it’s only naturally so, before falling down in the same fashion to the sides, then on his face.
Alphonse has a heart-shaped face. He has a somewhat pale skin complexion. He also has a masculine build, with a toned stomach and slightly muscled arms and legs. His hands are big yet slender, proving to be weapons of destruction when clenched to a fist. His feet can easily fit in size ten shoes, and can easily even the male’s footing. Alphonse doesn’t have excessive skin hair, though the hairs aren’t visible to the human eye with just a single, casual glance.
The Ellmelech boy prefers to wear clothing that covers his arms and legs. A blue, hooded jacket with Nicholas Flamel’s insignia in black at the back over a black, long-sleeved buttoned shirt, its collar covering the boy’s whole neck outlined with a medium width white line at the edge, dropping to trace the vertical line where the white buttons fall, before finally outlining the edge of his shirt all the way around. The line also travels on the shoulder, continuing to outline a line going down the arm-sleeve, before wrapping around the wrist part of the shirt, where two buttons close. Following this is a simple pair of black pants and black boots, including white gloves.
Other than that, he settles with a white, long-sleeved polo shirt, a black jumper, and black boots. Alphonse has several pairs of black boots, the added pairs bought after he was orderly informed of his ‘offer’ from the Japanese school. This is when he lingers inside his room, or hanging out at the library, or perhaps having a lone moment on the rooftops. At times, Alphonse would wear black-rimmed rectangular glasses indoors when burying himself in research papers or science books.
During lazy, unprogressive days, including ungodly hot mornings or afternoons, Alphonse stays inside his room if he hasn’t anything to do outside, wearing only a black tank, plain-colored boxer shorts and flip-flops. Depending on the season, he’d wear this while sleeping or sticking with sweatshirts and loose pants.
Present Ability
“To obtain, something of equal value must be lost.”
Alphonse was born with the power to transmute matter to another form of its physical property of the same subject; mainly changing the shape of the item, or creating a new object from the components of the original object. Included is the ability to mix several components from different origins to form a scientific reaction, such as air + friction + heat = flames/explosion.
The above abilities come to all alchemic alice-users, but each individual is granted a specialty. For Alphonse, it is the ability to attach a bit of his soul to armors, toys, or cars, objects that have the ability to move, to control them at will, giving them a mind of their own to side with the Ellmelech boy’s intentions. His specialty is something that can be considered as a ‘level 2’ alice-ability or, rather, an advanced level of alchemy.
Deconstructing is another ability that comes with the package, as does constructing. As long as there are raw materials to be used, or materials to be recycled, his alchemic abilities can work. Examples of this is able to fix a shattered item (all pieces should be present, of course) and to create a hole in a wall and to patch it up again. He can take a compound with the desired element and extract the necessary without tinkering with the solution or worrying about state changes. What the Ellmelech boy cannot do is human transmutation, such as healing wounds.
Before he can use his ability, he needs a transmutation circle, basically a perfect outer circle with polygons inside. The symbol must be perfect; otherwise his desired transmutation would be flawed. For example, instead of creating a hedged labyrinth, with a single mistake in the circle, it could become ground covered in massive, sharp thorns that launch offensively to the alchemist. To commit an error with the said circle is a dire, and possibly fatal, mistake.
To activate his unique skill requires a single clap, followed by resting his hands to the item he wants to transmute. The energy of the user flows from the brain to the hands and finally to the object; beginning with the brain for whatever image that is concentrated upon will change accordingly with the item present. It’s possible to make water boil as well. When using his soul, there are other effects besides the requirements.
His soul (or a part of it rather) can only stay in that object for a short period of time, roughly ten to fifteen minutes. Once his soul is affecting the armor (let’s stick with the armor), a blood seal would appear on the inside of its body, small enough to go unnoticed but has a big effect on the armor. If the blood seal happens to be erased, the soul will return to Alphonse immediately, rendering the armor completely useless. Don’t worry, he isn’t affected by dizziness or weakening when attempting to do this; it comes naturally to him.
At times, when he wants to, he can transfer his very soul to the armor, leaving his real body asleep and vulnerable while he resides in the armor’s body. He cannot transmute anything in this state. The time limit doesn’t change, having the maximum span of fifteen minutes only, starting from the transferring process. Once he leaves the armor, either by the limit or at will, or at the loss of the blood seal, he returns to his body immediately, awakening with real arms and legs again.
He could easily manipulate the object he controls, but if the body gets destroyed altogether with his soul intact, he faints as his mind tries to search for the lost piece of his soul. Once he finds it though, he’ll stir and start to regain consciousness. Though, this is an extremely delicate state, as the body beings to decompose when the entire soul isn’t present. If he finds his missing piece but need help to bring it back to his body rather his corporeal container rejecting it, the soul with Alphonse’s willpower would turn into a bright, blue ball, its light brightening and reducing as if mimicking a heart, looking for someone that could help its master.
A soul consists completely of free energy. They can go anywhere, even in dreams.
Manners, Feelings, and Thoughts
“A kind, animal-loving gentleman.”
For some, that’s enough to describe the younger Ellmelech boy, but there’s more to him than meets the eye. Spending a few minutes with Alphonse already leads to the conclusion that he’s nice and polite. It’s known in his hometown that his older brother Edward proves to be the complete opposite of him. He’s open to new people, a cheerful face in town, greeting everyone coming his way.
He jumps at the benign opportunity to help people in need. He’s innocent and trusting, especially with females with the first impression of being as optimistic and pleasant as his mother. Usually, if you have given Al a kitty or two to play with, he'll spend a lot of time caring for them. He also loves reading, expanding his scientific knowledge and vocabulary, but a fiction book doesn’t hurt once in a while. Make sure to talk with him, as he's very social and will become depressed from being alone. Al eats a lot, but not as much as his brother, who can eat a meal fit for three grown men.
