Ida sat in the middle of her room, tired. She rested her chin on her knees, and her soft blond curls cascaded down her back. She listened to the soft chirps outside, and the cool wind brushed her sweating faced. It had been a tiring day.
She let out a long sigh, watching the smoke drift away in the breeze. It hasn't rained for a while now, and she missed the rain. Raelag had always loved the kind of weather too, and she shared in his obsession.
She sighed once more, looking over at the mirror to see her reflection. Her angelic presence angered her; why could she not be intimidating like her caretaker? Because of this doll-like face, no one had given her the respect that she wanted. Other than that, everybody saw her as a little girl, even if she was graduating at last.
She raised her tiny fist, clenched in it a small note. It was from no one, of course. The note had been hers to make after all.

I walked into the room by mistake, but the sight held me transfixed. It was the little blond fairy I've met in the labyrinth, with her pretty blond curls and innocent eyes. It was Ida.
"Are you alright?" I ask her, and in the darkness, I see a little sheet of paper scrunched tightly in her hand.
I slowly walk over to her. She looked so delicate, and so I have decided to refer to her as a fairy. Even with wings, she would have looked as if she was easy to fall.

"Are you alright?"
She whirled around, surprised, and finds one of the people she had only recently met.
"Oh, hello." She greets quietly, smiling a bit. "How are you, Ree, right? I'm okay by the way..."

"The name's Ree, and yeah, I'm okay..."
I took a seat beside her, on the same marble floor. She had been facing the open window, and involuntarily I shiver. It was so cold, and winter was near.
"Something's bothering you," I told her defiantly, as if I was stubborn enough to believe a few spoken reassurances. "I can see it in your face. Anyway, you look a little pale..." I turned to her, worried. "Are you cold? I'll close the windows if you want." I offered. The sight of her sad face melted my heart.

"Something's bothering you,"
She shook her head in protest. Ree was a kind friend, but she wasn't in the mood to talk. Not now.
"I can see it in your face. Anyway, you look a little pale..."
Ida looked up at her this time, at a loss of words. Only raelag had been able to see through her, and that had a;ways brought her to embarrassed tears. But this Ree...who was she really?

Not waiting for her answer, I stood up and did what I had said I would do. She was going to catch a cold, and it would be a shame, since Christmas was nearing.
When I sat back once more beside her, she was still in a daze, i guess, with her eyelids half-closed. I decide to press the matter, just a little more, to squeeze the information out. Just to be assured nothing was wrong.
"Do you feel better now? Shall I make tea?" I offer instead, yet I had no idea how I would find the kettle and tea cups. Surely she'd instruct me, no?

"Do you feel better now? Shall I make tea?"
"No," She replied quietly. "I'll go make tea myself. Please make yourself at home, Ree."
Ida stood up and walked towards the kitchen. She was in a state of turmoil; how could she avoid telling Ree? She needed help, and sure her friend was offering it, but...she was scared. She didn't know what to do. Quickly she boiled hot water and prepared their drinks. She walked back into the living room with a tray of tea and to cups.

"I'll go make tea myself. Please make yourself at home, Ree."
And she left.
I stared at her back, surprised. I wasn't expecting that. Was she really troubled? I wanted to be of use to her. She has to be happy. I want to see her happy again.
Wouldn't that Raelag guy like that?
I saw her walking back to me, a surprised look on her face. I must've thought at that time she was psychic too- but then i realize too lately that I have spoken the words too loud.
"Wouldn't that Raelag guy like that?" I had said.

"Wouldn't that Raelag guy like that?"
Ida stared at her companion in deep surprise. There were two reasons: one, she had mentioned her caretaker's name, and two, Ree somehow knew something about the latter. Ida had never mentioned Raelag before anybody else, so how could Ree know?
"Y-you know Raelag?" she asked in a quaking voice.

I raise my hands in front of my chest, as if to say, no, not me. "Well, yeah, I've heard of the supreme clan lord of Ygg-Chall." I say. "It's not as if he wasn't really infamous, you know?"
I laugh, embarrassed, not really sure what to say or hwo to explain it. Truth was, Raelag had also been in a few games I've tried- but i've never met him. Seriously. But he did looked like a good looking guy.

"Well, yeah, I've heard of the supreme clan lord of Ygg-Chall." Ree said. "It's not as if he wasn't really infamous, you know?"
Ida set the tray down in front of her guest, then proceeded to sit down beside her. "Big brother was always going out into the world," she explained, her eyes watching the steam from the hot tea. "He went to so many places, helped so many people. He was so kind, so gentle, so understanding..."
She sniffed. She couldn't help crying at all. She wanted to tell somebody, but she felt so lonely. Now Ree was offering her help. She wanted to accept it this time.
"Ever since I was a child, he provided me with everything I needed- and he was always there for me, even if I wasn't really related to him..." she picked up her tea cup and sipped. "And I looked up to him. He was everything I had...I have no idea who my parents are or where they are now. It doesn't matter. Since I have Raelag...but..."
Her voice hitched. She was starting to cry; tear drops slid down her cheeks. She continued on, "He had a little trouble with the demon sovereign. You know, Kha-Beleth? The demon lord? He was angry at big brother. Now he's chasing him. I know Raelag is a clever arch mage, but I'm so worried..."
She looked up at Ree. In the dim light, she could see worry andsympathy in her friend's brown eye. "What if he dies? Who would I return to after graduating? I would be all alone, and...and that...that would make me..." she thrust her face in between her hands, tea forgotten. The cup lay on the carpeted floor, spilling its contents. "...that would make me so alone in a world I cannot live in..."

I listened to her quietly. No, I shouldn't interrupt. Ida was telling me everything she felt about her caretaker; she was pouring her heart out to me. It wouldn't be nice to comment while she was still talking- it would stop the flow of emotions, and it would be rude. After all, this was what I have been wanting to know.
After she was finished, I touched my lips with the tips of my fingers and said, worriedly, "Oh, Ida..." Words weren't enough. I didn't know what to say or how to comfort her. I thought of what my parents would do- and one thing popped in my mind. Abandoning all awkwardness, I leaned in, pulling her into my arms.
"It's okay, Ida, go ahead and cry..." I urged her softly. "Let it all out. You'll feel better after. Don't worry..." I paused here, unsure if it were the right words. "...I'm here for you."

Ida ceased crying, looking up at her friend. had she truly spoken those words? Or was it her imagination of someone offering her aid? She wiped her tears. No, this was real.
"Thank you very much, Ree-chan." she said softly. This time she did not pull her gaze away, she did not flinch. "I feel a lot better now, thank you."
So what if the Demon Sovereign was after Raelag, and she couldn't do anything? So what if she was stuck in the academy for a few years and only get to see him after she graduates? Yes, Raelag was an Arch mage, and he was strong and brave. She should be the same for him. She will be, and her friends would remind her of that.
(ooc:Thanks Ree. ^^ That was good RPing. Shall we end it here?)
