Festival Attraction: Mirror Shards

One of the perks of being at the prestigious Alice Academy is the amusement rides during the festivals. Not only is it realistic, the fact that it’s made with the use of the amazing ability called alices makes it even more amazing. And now during the annual Alice Festival, a ride has been set up for the students and teachers alike to enjoy: the Mirror Shards, more known as the House of Mirrors.

What sets Mirror Shards from the ordinary mirror houses is that the mirrors inside it does not show ugly or bizarre reflections of those who enter it—instead, the mirrors show visions of what the people who enter it want to see. It has been made using alices such as Mind Reading, Illusion, and Mirror Manipulation.

The Mirror Shards does live up to its name; shards of a huge mirror are scattered all over the room. At first, when a person looks into the mirror shard, he will not see anything but his reflection, but at the moment he blinks, the vision of what he wants to see will appear. He may enter the mirror, however, the vision lasts for, at most, twenty seconds; enough to make a person happy enough. When he exits the mirror shard, another mirror shard will appear, and another vision will be shown.

The number of mirror shards depends on how many visions the person wants to see. However, a person may only stay inside Mirror Shards within ten minutes. When the time is up or when the person is already finished with viewing the mirror shards, the mirror shards they saw will form a large mirror, and then that mirror will turn to a towering door which leads to the exit.

[Takuto]

A black-haired boy was walking around the campus, looking for place where he could spend his day alone. It's been a while since he showed up along the roads of Alice Academy. His black-hair and dull looks is not that uncommon to the people of Alice Academy. The young man was wearing a black shirt and a pair of jeans, the usual outfit he wears. A simple young man, eh? That is not unusual at all.

'Mirror Shards'

As he saw this, he stopped on the way and his dull eyes continued to stare at the sign. It seems like he had taken interest in that attraction. As he looked around, he noticed that almost all the people had their interest on the 'Obake Yashiki' attraction. Takuto walked inside and found himself surrounded by Mirrors which is not that amusing at all.

In a blink of an eye, Takuto found himself dressed when he was still a little kid. He was playing with his friends, praised by his teachers and parents. He was living like a normal kid would do. He found himself...happy.

"A DREAM...."

As he opened his eyes once again, he found himself back to reality. When he touched his eyes, he noticed that his eyes felt somehow 'watery'. He asked himself "Did I just..?"

[Gin Toho]

Picking up the cell phone off the ground as he sat there, on the ground, with his cell phone in his hand. Drinking soda while looking at the clouds, in front of a load of sights to see. Yet, why out of all things, the clouds in the sky? Well, it's interesting to see it get blown off by the wind. His eyes were attracted to some flashy sign, which he immediately revert his attention from the clouds to the sign. "Mirror Shards". How lovely. It sounds lovely anyway. Immediate reaction to the sudden excitement of the thirteen year old wanting to enter the attraction. He called his firstly made figure: Heal with him. Heal was fast. And as usual, he'd smile like a little girl, even though he's a boy. Then dialing another number, as he stood up and grabbed Heal's hand.

"Why didn'cha tell m' there's an attraction?

Issit' 'cause ya' hate m' so much?!

If ya' wan'na prov' you luff' m', then come wi' m' to the Mirror Shards, 'Nkay?

Why? 'Cause I said 'so"

Hanging up on the person on the other side of the line, after his speech which didn't let the other person talk. He had a mischievous smile, now. Heal's hand was gripping on to Gaku's as he smirked and laughed in satisfaction. Heal stared at his creator in anxiety, thinking: What the heck is he on about?

"Shall we go naw'? Heal?"

He asked, the seven year old looking boy. Who was actually only a figure. Heal nodded, and then smiled. The two of them waited for the person from the other side of the phone to come, and enter the attraction with them.

[x A m r i t a . . .]

The obnoxious ring tone rang once again. Ever since his cousins in the acedemy, his cell had never stopped ringing for a day. Going bonklers at the distraction. He picked up the black and silver cell. Flipping it open hurriedly and answering it with a shout. He was still half dressed, only having his three-quarter pants on.

"WHAT?!"

"Why didn'cha tell m' there's an attraction?"

"Wai--what?"

Issit' 'cause ya' hate m' so much?!

If ya' wan'na prov' you luff' m', then come wi' m' to the Mirror Shards, 'Nkay?"

"Err.. What? No? HUH?!"

Why? 'Cause I said 'so"

Lately his cousin could be described as obnoxious as his cell phone's ringtone. Quickly slipping a dark navy blue shirt on, running towards the festival attraction where his cousin was. And yes, as expected, he was with another person. Err, figures.

"Let's not just stand there, will ya'? Go in."

He said with a slightly annoyed tone. His cousin practically FORCED him to come with them. He entered the festival attraction before the two. Only to find himself in a land of mirrors. He blinked, then wiped his eyes. Seeing the old him, where his hair was still so blonde that it's almost white. Then in a matter of seconds, the vision was gone.

"Huh?"

[Windi]

Atop a large mirror in the room, a pair of legs dangled, crossed so it would have been impossible to see up the crimson folds. Her hands were gripped firm about the mirrors edge infact it was a bit of a wonder how she managed to get up there. She looked down at the Trio of boys her long blond hair had a few strands twisted back in ebony clips. She looked cute, I suppose in a twisted dangerous way as always her collar was unadjusted showing her thin bones and a delicate silver cross necklace barely visible. Her warm chocolate eyes could be classified as bitter sweet, as she swept their figures. First catching the boy closest to her, the one who’d touched a mirror. He now stood looking confounded no doubt having experienced a dream. She released a small chime like laugh.

"The mirrors show you… what you want to see. More of a tease then a dream hm? “

She yawned lavishly, looking more catlike then normal and finally took notice of the other two in the room. One was new… the other came to mind instantly. Her dance partner. Her lips turned into a smile of recognition and she sprung down from the mirror frame her hands clutched firm to her skirt. Which aside from that she donned a cream turtle neck, with a beige, suede vest rimmed with white to make it look almost like hide. She touched down to the ground gracefully, her legs bending to the take the impact and then straightened to a stand.

"Kuro, what’s a boy like you doing in a place like this?"

She teased using that dumb bar line so commonly found in movies, it was more her semi sarcastic way of saying hello. But it was well meant, after all at least Kuro didn’t attempt to kill her every time he saw her like another certain boy at this school.

[Gin Toho]

The thirteen year old nodded as his cousin beckoned him to come inside the festival attraction. Holding Heal's hand tighter, as his own cold hands was warmed the the figure's. It's almost like he was the figure, and heal was the creator.

Hopping into the attraction with great delight. His and Heal's face was the same. And the two both looked like brothers, going to an amusement park. It was similar anyway. Taiwanese amusement parks were really fun, but he had longed to go to Japan's ones. It's been a while anyway, and Heal hasn't been sight-seeing views apart from the ones in Taipei. And heck, Japan was his home-country.

"Yaay~ Kuro's bein' nice t'day~"

He said with delight, as he skipped inside with Heal who just repeated what he had said, except in a more childish voice. They were both childish. It's must have been this creator-figure-bond. As soon as the two entered the room full of mirrors, he looked around as there was so many mirrors that displayed him, Heal and Kuro. Making his unoccupied hand to a visor, which he used to exaggerate the fact that he's looking around, pretty surprised.

Blinking for one second. Seeing the house in Taipei, his brother, Shinichi and the figures he had made. All of that in twenty seconds. It was amazing. He smiled cheerfully, smiling so wide that it made Heal grin as well. Then skipping to their beloved sour-faced cousin, Gaku made his earlier hand which he used as a visor, to grab Kuro's arm. Showing such appreciation.

"The mirrors show you… what you want to see."

Hnn, that makes sense now. What he had longed to see was his house in Taipei. But what's with the figures? He sees them everyday. The boy's attention then reverted to where the voice came from. There stood a girl before them. Gaku's eyebrows rose, his lips are rounded with a hint of a surprised look. Then looking at Kuro with the same expression as the two seemed to know each other.

"WAY TO GO! Kuro!"

He shouted as he tapped his cousin on the back, almost hitting him with a full blow. Heal jumped up and down with a smile on his face, saying:

"Way to go~ Way to go~"

A being grabbed him by the hand, which caught him off guard with it being his own cousin, who was clearly male. And males grabbing hands aren't good. He shrugged off as he demanded his cousin to stop touching him. It'd be horrible if anyone else saw him letting his cousin holding his hand, and the fact that they're both bishonens. If a girl happens to pass by they'd be moe screaming their heads off.

Then after getting his hand off the grip of his cousin, he turned to the voice that called him by his short name. And only a few people knew it. Usually people would call him by 'Kurosagi' instead of just plain ordinary 'Kuro'. He displayed a smile before turning back to face whoever had called him.

"Pluto?!"

He said, half shouting the name. Shocked that someone else was here besides him, the cousin and the figure. He had wished that she hadn't seen anything about his own cousin grabbing him by the arm, or any of the embaressing moments.

"I wouldn't have gone if it wasn--"

His lines were cut by a sudden hit on the back that made him jump off the ground for a bit. Turning around only to see his cousin cheering for him. And if it was only him it'd be okay, but his figure as well?! His right eye twitched.

"NO! NOOO! It's not like that."

[Windi]

They seemed caught off by her appearance. She didn’t blame them; the spot she’d chosen to hideaway had been an uncommon one. Still it had been more then fairly amusing to watch various students be able to view their darkest desires and dreams. Some figured out the nature of the mirrors instantly and accepted it; others couldn’t fathom what they showed. Yet still more believed that they were transported into a parallel universe. But her favorite response was that of the ones who choose to believe it was the future. How selfish, it made her have to clench her jaw together to fight the giggles.

"Hey… who’s your fr- “.

He’d called her Pluto very formal at least for her she found her name often troublesome. Stupid planet… stupid god of war. Making her a mockery, she would rule supreme over them. Soon they’d forget that wanna be planet and the ancient god. Her name would rule supreme coming first to the minds of anyone who heard the term Pluto. And why not start with Alice academy, when one was making a name for oneself you had to start off somewhere. Her thoughts were interrupted by a hyperactive chant. ‘way to go Kuro way to go!’ At first it didn’t click, what was he being congratulated f-….oh. Then her confused expression was quickly replaced her glossed lips fanning into a seductive smile, her lashes lowered.

"Now, Now Kuro-kun no need to be so shy."

She was causing trouble for him she knew, but it was too much fun to simply pass up. Once more she had to fill the laughter and instead it leaked out from the sparkle in her eyes. She took it one step further reaching a hand to rest casually against one of his cheeks, almost lovingly before she pulled it away. She wasn’t sure if this friend of Kuro’s would be able to see past the façade, but it was worth a short. And more then a little entertaining to say the least.
