"I am boooooored~"
The sing-song voiced echoed in the dimly lit small room, almost empty save the table desk in the center of the room, a wheeled chair and the man who sat on it. The darkness of the room hid the man's face and if that wasn't enough, the top part of his face was concealed by the large tall hat that he wore. That tall green hat with a piece of white cloth wrapped around the base of the hat. The man was clad in a buttoned white dress shirt, a green overcoat over that and lastly, a pair of green pants. If one saw his footwear, though, they would hysterically laugh. His supposedly smart and hip attire was only ruined by a pair of large clown-like black shoes, making him look somewhat like a ring-leader of a circus show.
In front of him, on the table, sat files and files of documents and papers, each file regarding different issues. Issues best kept unsaid in this case. And the bored man in green was one by one looking through each file, his shadowed eyes half-closed and his head resting on one hand as he lazily browsed through the documents one by one. Each document displayed a picture of people, most of them important in terms of policy, and a biography on them. They were hit requests. Yes, the man in green was a hit man and now, he was looking for new entertainment.
His eyes shot open though as he reached a particular file, this one different from the others. The picture was of a building instead of a person and included in the file was a list. A list of names. He recognised the building. He knew it all too well. Then, his once-motionless lips curled into a wide and sinister grin as he closed the file, the documents, picture and list inside it. Pushing the chair away from the table, he stood up. Turning to his right, he lifted his right foot up to take a step. And then, there was a ripping sound as the space in front of him suddenly ripped open, as if a piece of paper. Literally ripped open and inside that rip was a vortex of black and purple, endlessly mixing and coiling around each other. The man's right foot entered the rip and right before he moved his whole body inside, he let out a loud laugh. A loud cackling laugh that would send shivers down infant's spines.
"Fun, fuuuuuun~"
And he disappeared from the sight, the rip closing as fast as it had been formed.

Alice Academy Dormitories

"Ugh... What's that sound?"
Brian flicked his eyes as he tried to clear his vision, his hands moving up to the side of his body as he propped himself up to a sitting position, his head turned towards the door. He had been sleeping oh-so peacefully when a peculiar sound had disturbed his peace. He groaned in annoyance as he pulled his legs out from his blanket, placing them on the ground. He felt the cold wooden floor send chills up his legs and he pulled his legs up for a moment, before slowly placing them flat against the ground. Waiting for his feet to adapt to the change of temperature, he got onto his feet, staggering towards the door, his bare feet making shuffling noises with every step he took.
He raised his left arm, rubbing his forearm against his closed eyes to rub away any eye flakes that may have formed in his sleep. As he reached the door, he lowered the arm, grabbing the doorknob and twisting it open. The first thing he noticed, as soon as he looked out of his own dormitory room, was the bright lights emerging from the gap at the bottom of the door of the room opposite his. His eyes widened in curiousity, confusion and fear. The room belonged to Hiei Valentine, the Student President and it seemed that something was happening inside. Stepping forward quickly, he grabbed the metal door knob, twisting it open and stepping inside.
Once more, he was taken aback by what he saw, his feet rooted to the ground as his eyes and mouth gaping open. Right above Hiei's bed, where Hiei lay asleep, was some kind of portal and inside it, Brian could see what seemed to be a swirl of dark colours. What was happening?
"Hi-Hi-Hiei...?"
He managed to stutter, but gasped as he suddenly saw a hand emerge from the portal, grabbing Hiei's wrist. And then, in one quick movement, the hand pulled the Student President and the still-sleeping male was pulled into the portal. Before Brian could even do or say anything, the portal had disappeared. And right before his very eyes, the Student President had been taken away. Where, he did not know. Who, he did not know either. And now he wished he never even left his room at all.
Panic surging in him, he ran out of the room and started to make his way towards the teachers' dormitories. He had to tell them what had just happened. He had to. His legs pumped as he replayed the moment in his head, still in disbelief of what had just happened. That was the first time he had seen such an Alice, even in the Academy. And he had been here almost as long as Hiei had. It did not seem to come from this Academy. No, not at all.
Then, upon reaching the teachers' dormitory, he realised that he was not the only student awake, panicking and talking to the teachers. In front of him, at the end of the hallway, stood a newly-awakened Althea Valentine and Setsuna Hayashi surrounded by students. Unsure of what was happening, he dashed forward, waving his hands frantically in the air as he let out a yelp.
"Ms. Valentine! Ms. Valentine!" As soon as he had gotten her attention, and everyone else's, at that and as soon as he reached the crowd, he continued, his voice slightly raspy as he tried to regain his breathe. "It's Hiei. He's disappeared!" At that, the teachers looked at each other. It was Ms. Hayashi that spoke first. "Hiei too, huh?" Ms. Valentine sighed in worry. Hiei had recently become her new son and now, he had disappeared. Turning back to the students, she instructed them to go back to bed. In her mind, she already had a list of names. Brian looked at her, confused for a moment, before turning away and walking back to his room.
It seemed that Hiei was not the only one who had been taken away.
Back at the teacher's dormitories, Althea and Setsuna had written down the names of the students the others had claimed to have disappeared. Both of the teachers looked at the names, realising the somewhat complex relationship between each name. each student had been taken the same way. A portal appearing above them, a hand emerging and grabbing them, before pulling them into the portal, each of them happening before the witness could ever do anything. "What should we do?" Setsuna asked, looking at her colleague. Althea looked back at her. She gulped, before taking a deep breathe. She needed to calm herself. Hiei wasn't the only one who disappeared. 11 other students had too.
"We need to investigate on this matter, and quickly too, before the students are sent into a state of panic and hysteria." She replied, her eyes returning to the list of names. One by one, she drilled the name into her head. Hiei, Xena, Andre, Hime, Leon, Elyon, Shugo, Charity, Kotone, Mirany, Tiffany and Mitsuki. Twelve students, most of them having not even a relationship with the other. Questions poured into her head. Why them? Who was the culprit? Where were they now? How were they? She lifted her eyes back at Setsuna. Kurogane had left at a bad time. He was usually the one in-charge of such stuff and now, it was up to the staff to take care of the matter.
"Wake the teachers up. The faster we solve this and bring them back, the better."
Author's Notes:
And here's the prologue. An appetizer, so to say. Brian's a random NPC, so just ignore him. This is the only time he'll be making an appearance. Yeah, sad for him. Anyway, the next chapter may come later (If my tuition does not deprive me of my ability to type properly) or tomorrow, when I wake up.
