Name: Miyai Kashi
Age: 13
Gender: Male
Alias:Man Boy in the Mirror
Custom Title: Through the Looking Glass
Nationality: Japanese
Hair Color: Black
Eyes Color: Grey
Height: 5 feet 5 inches
Weight: 97 lbs
Appearance:
Ebon dark curls crowns his head, tousled across thin brows, almost a fair enough contrast to his skin's pale peach complexion; and no parting waylays the complex mesh of hair just about nigh long enough to feather against his neck. Despite what might seem to be an almost unruly appearance, Kashi surprisingly takes great measures into styling his hair the way it is, as it were, and is as finicky with it as much as most teen-aged girls would with their own respective hair-dos. His eyes are not that of a child's usual wide-set pair; instead, they are almond-shaped, framed by dark lashes, and are of the most peculiar shade of grey -- almost crystalline in their reflection of the world -- unnervingly sharp in their resolute gaze, yet ever playful and impish fitting for a boy so young.
His face holds a certain boyish charm; heart-shaped in its entirety, it possesses the steadfast forehead above eyes and brows, the prominent nose, smooth cheeks, pale lips that are often upturned into a roguish grin, and the slightly pointed chin. The athletic physique is almost as lean as he wants it to be--save for whatever remaining baby fat he still retains at the moment-- stemming from a childhood filled with sports and games. He fits the school uniform trimly this way; and like other kids his age, Kashi still has a lot more to grow.
Clothing:
When not in uniform, a peculiar union between business and casual -- in various styles. Rarely do these clothing ever form-fit his body, but they almost never seem too baggy for the boy either. Dress shirts coupled with jeans, poet shirts and jeans or slacks, turtle-necks and denim pants, just to name a few. Others to include would be wide-neck tops, high collared shirts, jackets, coats, and appropriate shoes. He prefers his upper-wears to be long-sleeved, although he isn't that all opposed to wearing t-shirts and other non-sleeved items.
A wristwatch constitutes the daily apparel he constantly wears. Sometimes the usual chain will be present to accent denim jeans, a thin silver chain to complement a black top, or perhaps a belt to securely fasten loose trousers around his waist. He, however, carries around a medium-sized mirror virtually everywhere he goes.
Alice: Mirror Alice.
With this alice, Kashi is able to utilize a mirror as spatial key, allowing him to access a plane-like space through it -- letting both foreign objects and himself go 'inside' the said mirror, as it were. It can be any mirror; of any type, quality, and size. It has proven, however, to be much simpler with plane mirrors rather than with anything else.
He currently applies the alice primarily as storage space. From stuffed toys to books to practically anything one can think of, just as long as there's a mirror big enough to fit them in, and as long as he has had direct contact with said objects. Also, the mirrors of the real world have their equivalents inside this 'pocket dimension', and they serve as exit portals back where they are actually located. In this aspect, Kashi may use this as a means of teleportation; e.g. going inside Mirror A in Location A, then exiting out through Mirror B in Location B.
The space there is very large―however, to what extent, Kashi isn't quite sure of at the moment. The vast space of floating mirrors just seems to go on and on and on and on, endlessly, without apparent repetition.
Personality:
Pleasantly laid back around most people, Kashi first comes off as quite amiable. He can be charming when he wants to be, thus earning his own fair share of admirers in the process; a shameless flirt when he's in the mood, endlessly teasing or joking around with his friends; or even vague and aloof during the rare times when he wants to be alone (he can easily do this by simply retreating into a mirror *cough*escapist*cough*).
Nevertheless, he really does have a gentle heart.
A fighter, this boy is no pushover despite his friendly nature. He even used to be the captain of his previous school's Kendo team. Wilful and passionate, Kashi would not dare hesitate to stand up for his most cherished friends and loved ones.
Also, one should take note of the fact that Kashi is fairly patient enough Ehe has proven that much by staying behind with a few teammates during Kendo practices at his old school Ebut never ever try to fool around his sister. He is obsessively protective of her, and can easily go from 0 to scary in a matter of seconds if you do attempt to do anything of the sort.
Background:
The headstrong adolescent hails from Osaka, the son of a loving kendo practitioner (father) and a highly whimsical artist (mother). Kashi was the older of two siblings, and he would soon grow up to be very fond (and very protective) of his younger sister.
They would do virtually everything together.
From playing all sorts of games to tending to the family dojo, they were as good as the best and closest of friends.
Even in school, Kashi would always spend his lunchtime with his sister, despite the growing number of friends and companions wanting to spend more time with each of them (separately). They were indeed very close...so close in fact that their friends had initially thought them to be a couple instead of siblings. They merely laughed it off, but Kashi has played the "dutiful" brother ever since―fending off the bullies that would pick on her, scaring off the guys who would dare attempt to ask her out on a date...that sort of thing. After school hours, and during practices with the kendo team, his sister would wait patiently for him. She seemed to content already by watching her older brother train, and he would always love to show off just for her benefit. Thereafter, they would always walk home together. Sometimes, if she'd ask, he'd carry her on his shoulders.
During the evenings, they would both do their respective assignments in her room. After which, he'd always find the time to play with her Eno matter how 'girly' playing with stuffed toys and dolls meant for a pre-adolescent boy his age seemed. Their parents would simply coo at the cute sight. For his part, Kashi simply enjoyed seeing the smile on his sister's face.
The only problem was that the girl's smile often turns distraught whenever her precious inanimate friends went missing. He'd help her look for them, obviously, but strangely enough...they could never find them. Often, he would joke about how she should learn how to better keep track of her belongings. Once, however, when Kashi was out during a field trip to a museum, there was something out of place in the antique mirror display: there was a toy animal that suspiciously looks like his sister's favourite stuffed toy.
He merely shrugged it off at that time, thinking it to be simply coincidental.
However, when the number of missing items in their household increased as he became older, he began to wonder. When he was helping his mother clean her studio one day, he accidentally bumped into one of the easels there, sending it flying towards the wall mirror in the room. Closing his eyes tightly, he turned away from the impending crash, very well expecting the large mirror to shatter upon collision. Except it didn't. When his mother finally noticed him cringing, she had asked what was wrong Eonly to have his father come in and inquired why her easel suddenly appeared in the dojo. Only then did the young boy look up and realized that there was no crash. Both had looked at their young son then; when he explained how the easel was supposed to have broken the mirror, both parents looked at each other and sent him back to his room to rest. He didn't think to question further, and obeyed like he should.
The next day, when both he and his little sister were about to leave for school, their parents stopped them. Asking them what the matter was, his father only replying that her mother was taking his sister to school and that he had to stay home today. Thinking it to be a punishment for his yesterday actions (both children having never reprimanded before), he nodded and wished his sister well for school.
It was towards the middle of the day that his father told him that he was going to have to change schools for a while, and that he was going to learn how to control what was called an "alice" that he possessed. Slightly anxious, he wondered if his sister was going to go with him as well Eand when his father told him that they would learn in time, he could help but feel awful.
It wasn't too long after that that he would be attending what he would later come to know as Alice Academy.
