and trillions and ga-ga-ga-zillions of friends. Just friends. Nothing more... nothing deffinitly less. "I really look that old?"Ten's smile turned into a down-right sneer... but not unfriendly. It wasn't mocking. It was... friendly, yet... not so friendly. The usual. Her little "twisted" way of trying to have a friendly smile. It turned into a sneer. A smirk. Perhaps a shuddered-look at some points. "Do you need to be, or look, old to be called 'Mister'?" Ten asked, a thoughtful tone to her voice -- yet her face didn't look to match, "I find it polite only to say 'Mister', and using 'Mister' before such a word as 'Scarf' has given a cartoonish appearance to whatever is called the name..." The grin splashed across her face, and she raised a finger, pointing to the scarf twice and pulling it back to her; like she had just shot someone, "Mister Scarf. But if you'd like to be called a different name -- then, please do, give me some options. I'm Ten -- I won't give you any choices but that."[/ul]

André watched as the odd smile shifted into something different. The air about the girl, and even her tone, still sounded friendly enough. But her smile now looked more like a smirk. And from the occasional shuddering of the lips it also looked forced.
"I assumed a certain age was required, yes. I find it hard to picture myself as a cartoon." He titled his head to the side a quarter inch, just to show that he was slightly amused by this conversation, and decided he'd like a real name to go along with it.
"My name is André. I'm going to call you Insolite."
André said this with a straight face but inwardly he was quite amused by this. He liked pushing the boundaries other set for him. Most times they could not enforce them and that is where the most amusement came from. Although in this case he just liked the fact he decided to name her Unusual.

"Hmm... I never thought there was an age restriction on the word 'mister' -- Mama always called all the men 'Mister', and sometimes they were younger then her... though, if they were younger, I still tend to wonder why they were with her..." her voice trailed for a moment. She looked down for a moment -- her grin twisting upside down into a frown; Am I still angry at her? Her mind twitched again; Do I still regret knowing she was my Mother? She stopped -- blinked for a moment, as if pulling herself from a daze -- and her face contorted into an insane expression; somewhere between a laugh and an agonizing, pained trance. Idiot! Your brain is becoming a soup opera. Concentrate on the friendliness -- dammit -- the friendliness! "Ah... I didn't mean you were cartoonish -- I like cartoons. And I always picture a scarf in a cartoon," she said, kind of slowly and less honestly -- she looked up slightly; and the insane grin was gone, the face contortion... it was just... normal. Bland. Nothing. Except two eyes, a nose, and a mouth. The normal. "My name is André. I'm going to call you Insolite."Ten's eyes opened wide instantly -- she stared up at him; this time, insanity was gone -- she looked frazzled and unable to comprehend what she heard, but this time -- a real grin splashed across her face. Not crazy. Not insane... though a little ditzy, tired looking. Her face had always been known to have a 'I know all' appearance. "Insolite? I don't know what that means, but--" she sucked in air "--But I have a name now? And it isn't my real name -- so, are we friends then? Huh?" Random. Untortured. Like a child -- actually, completely like a child. She looked as if she were on tip-toes staring straight at him, she looked strange with her hands limp to her sides in such a way to appear like a ragdoll -- and her hair made her look so much more like a ragdoll. Friends, her mind echoed; and she felt the energy in her extra stomach tingle -- it felt as if it were about to ignite, and... slowly... her eyes to a magnificent cold, blood red and the grin expanded higher -- her eyes twirling. Oh... how nice. What a lovely time to get triggered. The Alice she had just rescently taken -- not that from the multi-personality child -- but this one... from earlier. Much earlier. It was one of those that seemed to get stuck in the recesses of her stomach; and Ten never really realized that she had pulled them out. This was fire. It was warm -- but, for the time being, it remained still. The last time it came out; she was coughing up sparks for a week, until she had been able to steal another Alice... oh, but she remembered quite well what happened before the coughing spell. Oh, the restriction had become high. She had been punished well. "André, is it? That's a strange name," she suddenly commented, "English?"[/ul]

André blinked slowly as the girl went off on a tangent about her mother always calling men Mister even when they were younger. His young mind was luckily innocent enough to not question just what it was she was talking about. So instead he merely shook his head slowly as she began to frown thoughtfully. He didn't know what she was talking about but he had no intention to ask either. Let her get lost in her own thoughts and see how long she stayed there. If the need ever arose you know you can distract such an opponent.
André counted the three crucial seconds in which he could have had her in one of several joint locks that would end a confrontation quickly. And didn't give a thought to the fact that was the only thing on his mind while he stared at the girl with the thoughtful frown. "I couldn't picture myself as ink." He replied without pause, his expression still neutral, and quietly wondering why his scarf provoked the image of a cartoon.
But the girl looked quite frazzled by the fact he had given her a nick name and broken the boundary she had set. Inwardly he was pleased with himself and wondering just what she would do in response to her new nick name. But then she pulled back her lips in a grin, not a sneer, or a growl, but a grin. Wondering just why it was she wasn't angry his shoulders seemed to drop down an inch in a show of disappointment.
André, as always, wouldn't move back as she moved forward just a little as she stood up on the tips of her toes and stared at him. This left his feathered hair brushing just against her forehead and giving him a compellingly good view of her strange orange hued eyes. 'Shes happy? A friend?' It was André's turn to be temporarily taken aback. He did not move and his crystal gray eyes looked unblinkingly into the girls. '... No way.'
André showed an outward flinch, the corner of his left eye shifted as he forced his eyes not to blink, and looked on in amazement as the girls eyes swirled to a dark red. Without moving, and several long moments later, she asked something about his name. It took him a moment to process the question. But his lips moved without him having to think which luckily hid his surprise.
"Il est français. It's French."
